Brief description: Mark B. Hamilton's previous poetry titles include the award winning chapbook Earth Songs (University of West Florida) and a volume of lyric poems, Confronting the Basilisk (Ball State University). His poems have won both state and national awards, being published in anthologies and journals in the US, UK, Greece, Japan, and Austria. He has edited two environmental publications, and is proud to have founded and directed Native America Day, in honor of the First Nations People, Missouri Western State University. Mr. Hamilton did his undergraduate and MA work at San Diego State University, and earned the MFA at the Writers Workshop, University of Montana. He has taught writing and literature for twenty years, and is a scholar of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, tracing their entire route, traveling on their approximate time-table and as they did by paddle and pack mule.
