Brief description: Nie Hua obtained his PhD at Tilburg Univeristy in the Netherlands under Professor Jan Blommaert. He is currently a lecturer in the School of Foreign Studies at the China University of Political Science and Law. His academic interests include sociolinguistics, linguistic anthropology, digital ethnography and new media studies. He has published journal articles and book chapters on topics of language and identity, medical communication, etc. He is currently working on the project of Chinese young people's cross-linguistic metapragmatic awareness and practices on social media.
