Description: The Sorceress and Wizard of Oz attempt to save Princess Ozma and Dorothy from the dangers which threaten them when they try to bring peace to two warring tribes.

Brief description: L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) was an American author, newspaper editor, actor, playwright, and publisher best known as the creator of the Land of Oz. His first Oz novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, published in 1900, introduced readers to Dorothy Gale, the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, and a magical world unlike anything that had appeared in children's literature before. The book's success led Baum to write fourteen original Oz novels, along with numerous other works of fantasy, fairy tales, poetry, and children's fiction.Baum believed that children's books should be filled with imagination, humor, and adventure rather than the moral lessons that dominated much earlier children's literature. His inventive approach helped transform the genre and laid the foundation for modern fantasy storytelling. More than a century after their creation, the Oz books remain among the most beloved works of children's literature, inspiring generations of readers through their themes of friendship, courage, loyalty, and the belief that ordinary individuals can achieve extraordinary things.
