Brief description: Dr. Caraciolo Fernandes is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics with Baylor College of Medicine and Attending Neonatologist at Texas Children's Hospital since 1998, and the Medical Director for Texas Children's Hospital's Kangaroo Crew Neonatal Transport since 2008. He has authored or co-authored a number of book chapters and peer-review publications on a variety of topics in neonatology. With an avid interest in Quality Improvement, Dr. Fernandes attended the Intermountain Healthcare Advanced Training Program in Health Care Delivery in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2008, and is actively involved in a variety of quality improvement initiatives at Texas Children's Hospital related to the transport and care of critically ill neonates. He served on the AAP Section of Transport Medicine Executive Committee.
