Derick Wilder is an author who grew up in and around the ocean in Florida, which helped foster his love of all creatures, whether they swim, slither, sprint, or soar. His picture books include The Longest Letsgoboy (a Margaret Wise Brown Honor Book and an SCBWI Crystal Kite Winner) and Does a Bulldozer Have a Butt (New York Public Library Best New Books for Kids 2022). He now lives in Fort Mill, South Carolina, with a teen who is growing up far too quickly. They share their home with Koda, a Siberian husky, Sammy, a ball python, and Luci, a king snake.
