Description: Resisting Tyranny is a new book about an American Revolutionary patriot, Matthew Lyon, a Congressman from Vermont, who was thrown into jail for criticizing then President John Adams under the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798. This is the story of a young Irish immigrant who became a leader in the Republican Party of his time, a crusading newspaper editor, and the founder of a town in Vermont and another in Kentucky. His legacy makes history come alive in our time with warnings for us to treasure and protect our First Amendment rights.

Brief description: Richard L. Morgan is a retired Presbyterian minister, teacher, counselor and current author. He lives in personal care at Redstone, Greensburg, Pa. He has written 20 books, some of which were either published or reprinted by Wipf and Stock. His most recent publication is: Light of Setting Suns: Reflections on the Realties and Mysteries At Ninety Years of Age. He offers pastoral care to the residents where he lives.
