Description: Something strange happened in the skies above Lake Champlain thirty years ago. Now Liam Dutra figures an assignment to research and write about that October night and the people who remember it will be a good excuse to explore Vermont's Champlain Islands. But it turns out that those celestial events echo all the way from a deeper past to a deadly present, and everybody from the town clerk to the local librarian might have a stake in the matter-- not to mention the North Island County Sheriff, who has plans of her own to put Liam's investigative skills to work. And then there's the lake itself: the history, legends, and stories it holds, and the hold they have on Liam. Rich with mood, mystery, and an evocative sense of a place and its people, the fifth Liam Dutra novel offers layer upon layer of story and surprise.
