Brief description:
Thomas R. Holtz, Jr. is a vertebrate paleontologist with the University of Maryland Department of Geology. He has authored dozens of books and articles on dinosaurs, including several children's books. He has even appeared in dinosaur-themed comic strips. A graduate of Yale and Johns Hopkins, Dr. Holtz lives in Maryland when he's not traveling the world, hunting fossils.
Review Quotes: These books are presented in a new format; historical timelines showing how paleontologists learned about the featured dinosaur. . . .Because of the approach used, this series needs to be added to collections to highlight the study of dinosaurs. Libraries need to give budding scientists a peek into how scientific discovery is always evolving.-- "School Library Connection"
