Brief description: Lydia Omolola Okutoro-Seck is an educator, author, poet, and editor who was born in Nigeria, West Africa. She grew up hearing traditional folktales from her Yoruba culture. She has published folktales about Ijapa the Tortoise as well as other stories and poems for young readers. Lydia loves collecting stories and learning about different cultures. She and her family have visited more visited more than twenty-five countries on five continents. She is inspired by young people, especially her ten-year-old son, Fadel, who served as an audience and contributed to this Anansi tale. Lydia lives with her son and husband in South Korea.
