Brief description:
Children's book author Deb Adamson writes picture books, board books, chapter books, and middle grade novels in fiction and nonfiction. Deb also writes for adults and teaches workshops on memoirs, voice, and revision. She is a member of The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
Deb is a former broadcast news journalist, freelance essayist, and syndicated columnist for Gatehouse News Service. Her column about homeschooling her son was read in over 250 print newspapers nationally and online, where it is still available as a resource to homeschool families. As an author, Deb enjoys visiting schools, encouraging reading and curiosity through fun programming and interactive play.
Before becoming an author, Deb was in Public Relations as a spokesperson for a major U.S. aquarium. She highlighted the aquarium's research projects, including the observation of wild dolphins in the waterways of Hilton Head, South Carolina. She organized major news coverage of several rehabilitated and released whales and seals along the New England coast. Deb has appeared a couple of times with a penguin or two on NBC's Today Show! As a broadcast news journalist, she provided voiceover talent to several commercial projects.
