Brief description: Magdalena Zabielska, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of English at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan', Poland. She is particularly interested in the issue of the patient's presence in specialist medical publications in the context of a patient-centred approach to medical practice. She has published a number of papers devoted to the discourse of case reports found in specialist medical journals. Emilia Wasikiewicz-Firlej received her MA in English Studies and PhD in Applied Linguistics from Adam Mickiewicz University, Poznan, Poland, where she currently works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecocommunication. Her research delves into applied linguistics and communication studies, focusing on professional communication, intercultural communication, communicative competence, and business discourse. She has co-edited five monographs and published around 30 papers in academic journals and collections. Anna Szczepaniak-Kozak, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Applied Linguistics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Poland. Her main academic interests are within the field of applied linguistics, namely intercultural studies, interlanguage (acquisitional) pragmatics and foreign language instruction. She is the author of two books, the co-editor of six monographs, and the author of around 40 scientific papers.
