Elite Schools in Globalizing Circumstances is based on an extended global ethnography of elite schools in nine different countries, and makes a powerful case for the rethinking of elite schooling in light of contemporary processes of globalization and transnational change. The book asserts that elite schools must re-cast their heritages and tradition in order to succeed in a world in which the globalization of educational markets, the ambitions of school youth, and the emergence of new powerful education models, have placed contemporary schooling under tremendous pressure.
