Brief description: Julian Horton is Professor of Music and Head of Department at the University of Durham. He is author of monographs including Bruckner's Symphonies: Analysis, Reception and Cultural Politics (2004) and editor of The Cambridge Companion to the Symphony (2013). In 2012, he was awarded the Westrup Prize of the Music and Letters Trust, and in 2014 he was elected President of the Society for Music Analysis.
