Brief description: A native of Chicago, I received a BA from The University of Illinois in History and Russian Area studies, and a Master's in City Planning. I served as a Company Commander in the US Army in Vietnam and became active in local and regional politics. As a Vice President of the real estate subsidiary of a Fortune 500 corporation, I traveled widely in Europe, Russia, China, and the Middle East, locations which have featured in my writing. I play bad golf, have become a dogged runner, and paint passable landscapes in oil and acrylic. Retired, my wife and I live in Florida. The best way to follow my work and learn about sales and freebees is through my web site http: //www.billbrownthrillernovels.com, which has Preview Chapters of each of my novels, interviews, book reviews, and other links.
Review Quotes:
Bob, Veteran: 5 Stars! Outstanding Book. Another of Bill Brown's Must Reads. I am a US Navy Vietnam Veteran and have read Bill Brown's "Our Vietnam Wars" volumes 1, 2, & 3. All are outstanding books. They tell the personal stories of individual Vets whole life, from their lives before they went into the service, their service, and their lives after they came back.
Wallace E. Walker: 5 Stars! What War is Like This is a terrific book that helps veterans and non-veterans alike better understand what war is like. These are true stories told by Vietnam War veterans. They detail what happened in their war and then how their lives developed thereafter. I strongly recommend it. Earl Walker, PhD
Rick DeStefanis: 5 Stars! The Truth It is the unvarnished and unembellished Vietnam War experience as told by the men who were there. Their stories not only show how they got there but how the war affected their lives afterward. Brown has freed them from the one-dimensional characterizations popularized by Hollywood.
Gary: 5 Stars! I just finished this book. I have read each of the 4. There is something every Vietnam Vet can relate to somewhere in this fine selection of stories. They might, just might, give the non-vet a feel for what it was like to serve and return home to a mostly uncaring home front.
Dan G. Kindle Reviewer: "5 Stars! As a Veteran of Vietnam, I was eager to read this book. It is absolutely fabulous. A lot of recollections I could relate to on a personal level. If you are a Nam Vet, or if you are into Nam research, GET THIS BOOK, it is priceless. "
