Description: Who has been the most influential figure in world history? Everyone will agree that it is Jesus Christ, also the most controversial figure ever. What sets Jesus apart from all other religious figures is that his first followers made the stupendous claim that three days after he had been crucified by the Romans, he appeared to many of them in a recognizable but different form-he was now alive forever and finally ascended back to heaven where he now reigns supreme with his Father. Surely the evidence for these amazing claims deserves thorough examination, with alternative ways of understanding the evidence also given careful consideration. Here you will find all of the relevant evidence exhaustively evaluated so that readers can come to their own conclusion, one way or another.

Brief description: Murray J. Harris is professor emeritus of New Testament exegesis and theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. Formerly he was warden (i.e., director) of Tyndale House, a biblical research library in Cambridge, UK, and a faculty member of the Divinity School in the University of Cambridge. He has written commentaries on the Greek text of Colossians and Philemon, 2 Corinthians, and John's Gospel. He was one of the original translators of the New International Version (NIV) of the Bible. He resides in his native New Zealand in active retirement. This is his 22nd book.
