Brief description: Yuan Xu is Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oregon. He works in approximation theory, harmonic analysis, and numerical analysis, mostly on problems of several variables. He has authored and co-authored several books and more than 200 research papers. He has served on the editorial board of several international journals and was awarded a Humboldt research fellowship in 1992-93 and a Humboldt award in 2021-22.
