The Bible, God's Word, addresses our many "why" questions about our life here. My dear friend, Catherine Martin, has written a book I would call a masterpiece. It is entitled The Calling. It deals with the many questions we have about why we are on the earth, what we need to do about being here, and how to recognize the enormous privilege of our personal calling to be ambassadors of God's truth. I find that truth enormously comforting. That God is so specific in His call on my life I don't have to cast about worrying whether I am on the right path or not. Bumbling about is not God's calling. His word says "We are called according to His purpose" (Romans 8:28). So there you have it. Open your Bible, start a regular reading schedule, and be reminded God's walking your walk and leading the way. While you're walking, take luxurious sits and read Catherine's brilliant encouragements in her book The Calling. I guarantee, it will enrich your ideas about what it means to be called by the God of all creation.
