Description: The Selected Sketches contains essays, stories, photographs and related material on the rich history of Dodge County, Georgia. Dodge County is situated in south Georgia in the Wiregrass area of the state. Founded in 1870, the County was opened up by the coming of the railroads after the Civil War. The county seat of Eastman sprang up as a town descended from Station Number 13 on the Macon and Brunswick Railroad. The Selected Sketches includes essays and photographs depicting the rich history of the county and its several generations of pioneer citizens into the present day. A series of photographs give a good idea of the growth and development in Dodge County's early days.
