Review Quotes:

This book changed my life and I have recommended it to many people through the years. No parent is perfect, but this book lets you re-parent yourself to fix any of the screw-ups our parents did on us because they were terrible parents OR because they didn't know any better.

If you want to stop being a victim, read this book. If you want to stop blaming your life on your terrible childhood, read this book. If you want to take control of your life, read this book.

Self-Parenting book is a must read and must have one! The first part of the book is more theoretical with explanations on the background of our behaviour and why we feel the way we feel. The second part of the book is what makes it so unique. The second part provides practical tools which are very simple and yet super effective daily exercises that will make all the difference. I've read tons of self help books and each time felt more confused. This time I felt much better after the first exercise and within a few days my anxiety was completely gone.

Its simplicity must not be understimated! The illustrations and the words go straight to the point and it's easy to read and understand! I regret I have not discovered it sooner before I was misdirected by other literature on the topic! For a year now I have been reading different books on the Inner Child; all of them fascinating somehow but very theoretical and complicated! I bought one of them in Spanish for my antie - I won't say the name- and she said "Darling thanks for thinking about me but it's too difficult for me to follow" and she is a smart cookie but indeed it is difficult and I regret I had not discovered this one for her at the time. Also, during this last year reading other books on the topic I was left to the question: How have these authors actually built their own relationship with their Inner Child in order to do this work? In every book I was left with another question; Where did they learn to relate with their Inner Child? I feel that after reading "SELF-PARENTING: The Complete Guide to Your Inner Conversations" now I understand the seed of more known literature on the topic and also that I have the answers of what other authors did which paradogically I couldn't find in their books! I am really surprised that this book is not more famous. Also, in my opinion, the bad reviews are nasty and unfair in correlation with the content of the book and what this book offers. I don't understand the basis for the bad reviews I have read with one star ... really unfair to this stunning book! I can't recommend it enough! Your antie who didn't go to University but it's a smart cookie will understand it too, not only you and it will make sense!
