Brief description: Halka Chronic received a doctorate in geology from Columbia University in 1949. Her career took her all over the globe--from teaching at Haile Sellassie University in Ethiopia to identifying Geologic Landmarks for the U.S. National Park Service in the southern Rockies. She spent more than thirty years in Boulder, Colorado, working as an editor and raising her daughters.
