David M. Hansen is a historian specializing in military architecture and a former Washington State Historic Preservation Officer. An authority on the preservation of historic military properties, he has worked as a consultant for private architectural firms as well as the National Park Service, and has written extensively on the topic. He holds degrees from the University of Washington and The Evergreen State College, and is a former adjunct faculty member at the University of Oregon.
