Description:

In Story-Shaped Worship Robbie Castleman attempts nothing less than to uncover the fundamental shape of worship. Right worship doesn't require a traditionalist return to earlier forms of church, she argues, but a fresh response to God inlight of the revealed patterns of worship we find in the Bible and church history.

Brief description:

Robbie F. Castleman is Professor Emerita at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where she taught biblical studies and theology for 17 years. She previously served as a staff member with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Florida State University for 15 years. She has written a number of Bible Study guides and books including Parenting in the Pew, Story-Shaped Worship, Essentials of the New Testament, and Interpreting the God-Breathed Word.

Review Quotes:

"If I had to choose just one to recommend, I would choose Castleman's book for its balance of scholarship and accessibility and its consistency in application of the underlying philosophy to issues such as musical form in worship."

--Scott Aniol, Artistic Theologian, "Gospel-Shaped Worship: A Review of Recent Literature", 2 (2013)
