Description: A perfect way to celebrate and follow the cause-for-canonization of the Servant of God, Isaac Thomas Hecker, this guide follows Fr. Hecker's copious writings from his diaries, detailing his conversion to Catholicism, to "How to be Happy," to how to be both a patriotic American and Catholic. One of the great American-Catholic apologists and certainly one of the most prolific, Fr. Hecker forged a seminal U.S.-Catholic identity that came to its fullest realization in the founding of the Missionary Society of Saint Paul the Apostle (the Paulist Fathers). Relying on the light of Christ and the lightning of Saint Paul's conversion experience, Isaac Hecker appears here as ultimately human yet inspired, and certainly worthy of the title "Saint," which will soon be his when he is raised to the altars of the Catholic Church. +
