Brief description: Paul Hetherington is an Australian writer and poet who has published numerous books and has been recognised with more than 30 national and international awards and shortlistings.He won the 2014 Western Australian Premier's Book Awards for poetry and was awarded an Australia Council for the Arts residency at the BR Whiting Studio in Rome in 2015-16. His work has also been shortlisted for major honours including the 2017 Kenneth Slessor Prize and the 2019 Newcastle Poetry Prize.Paul is Professor of Writing in the Faculty of Arts and Design at the University of Canberra, where he heads the International Poetry Studies Institute (IPSI). He is a founding editor of the international online journal Axon: Creative Explorations and founded the International Prose Poetry Group in 2014.
