God with Us: Bible Stories on the Road to Emmaus

Description: Follow God's story of love, hope, and rescue from Genesis to the Gospels in God with Us, a captivating graphic novel through stories told by Jesus himself.

"God with Us is a beautiful, compelling, intimate retelling of the Bible's most beloved stories, one that children will read over and over again."--Shawn Smucker, author of The Day the Angels Fell

The long walk home after celebrating Passover in Jerusalem should be a joyful journey, but this year the travelers are sad and afraid. Then a mysterious stranger shows up and starts telling stories--from many years ago all the way up to the recent death of Yeshua (Jesus) on the cross--and the friends can't wait to hear more.

God with Us is an intriguing, funny, and heartfelt journey that explores Scripture from Creation to the Easter Resurrection through the eyes of curious children (and grown-ups!) walking with Yeshua on the Road to Emmaus.

Review Quotes: "Imagine a book of Bible stories that children read so often the cover gets worn. You can tell their favorite pages because they're dog-eared and maybe even a bit torn. God with Us is that book: a beautiful, compelling, intimate retelling of the Bible's most beloved stories, one that children will read over and over again."--Shawn Smucker, author of The Day the Angels Fell

"God with Us is so beautiful, so fun, so helpful! Matt has brought the biblical story to life. I can't wait to give a copy to each of my ten grandchildren."--Judy Douglass, author, speaker, and global director for Cru Women's Resources

"The road from Emmaus to Jerusalem is estimated to be about seven miles. The Bible story of the Road to Emmaus is two thousand years old. In God with Us, writer Matt Mikalatos and artist Dave Shephard take us back to that journey, bridging both time and distance to breathe fresh insights into familiar stories. Highly recommended!"--Joe Field, Flying Colors Comics, Concord, California
