Description: Enzymes: Biomarkers, Targets and Therapy examines the critical role of enzymes in drug discovery, diagnostics, and therapeutic applications, providing essential insights for clinicians, biomedical researchers, and pharmaceutical industry professionals. This book highlights the utility of enzymes as biomarkers for disease diagnosis, targets for innovative drug discovery, and therapeutic agents in treating various conditions. Within its comprehensive chapters, the book discusses enzymatic biomarkers in neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease and α-synucleinopathies, where enzymes are pivotal in understanding disease mechanisms and potential interventions.

It covers enzymatic drug targets in cancers and diabetes, offering insights into harnessing enzymes for novel therapeutic strategies. Additionally, the book explores the role of enzymes in lipid and hypertensive disorders, emphasizing their potential in managing these conditions. Further, the book examines enzymes as therapeutic agents in autoimmune and infectious diseases, featuring approaches like CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing to tackle antimicrobial resistance. By providing curated information, this book equips its audience with the necessary knowledge to explore new directions in drug discovery and enzymatic therapy.
