Description: Water-Stable Metal-Organic Frameworks (WSMOFs) presents water-stable metal-organic frameworks for mitigating environmental pollutants, i.e. sensing and degradation/removal applications to protect the ecological system, both environmental and aquatic life, from various types of toxic pollutants released from industries. The pressing challenge of extracting common pollutants, including heavy metal ions, anions, oil, and radionuclides from water sources is a critical issue due to the widespread problem of environmental contamination. Various approaches have been explored for this purpose, such as sorbents, chemical precipitation, and traditional membrane separation. However, these methods often suffer from inadequate selectivity and low pollutant uptake.

Developing water-stable MOFs is the key to advancing effective water purification techniques, but the primary challenge lies in crafting MOF structures that can maintain their stability when exposed to water.

Brief description: Lei Guo received his PhD degree in materials chemistry from the Chongqing university of china. His research is dedicated to synthesis and characterization of organic molecules and their application towards corrosion inhibition property for the protection of metals and alloys from acid corrosion. His interests also encompass theoretical and experimental research in condensed matter physics
