Description:
This book contains a study of the thermal processes initiated by attosecond laser pulses. Considering the existence of the experimental evidence for the trains of the attosecond laser pulses, we developed the theoretical framework for attophysics, i.e. physics of phenomena with time duration in the attosecond domain. This time domain is concerned with phenomena whose duration is much shorter than the relaxation time for atomic, molecular and nanoparticles scales.
Review Quotes:
From the reviews:
"This book is based on the results of the authors' interest in the field of ultrashort laser pulses interaction with matter. ... In summary, 'the attosecond laser pulse technology opens new possibilities in experimental as well as theoretical solid-state physics, optics, thermodynamics, and electronics. It is the first step in the new visualization of the fundamental processes that shape our Universe.' ... thus may ably serve as the first book for those being initiates to the subject."
