Brief description: Carolyn Korsmeyer is Research Professor of Philosophy at the University at Buffalo and a former president of the American Society for Aesthetics. Her books include Making Sense of Taste: Food and Philosophy; Gender and Aesthetics: An Introduction; Savoring Disgust: The Foul and the Fair in Aesthetics; and Things: In Touch with the Past. She is a former president of the American Society for Aesthetics.
