Review Quotes: "Written in Chinese in the late 1980s and early '90s, these fourteen stories from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, the U.S., and New Zealand pull no punches.... Clear-eyed and realistic yet often lyrical, these modern tales show that contemporary Chinese fiction is alive and well." -- "Asia Week"
